What Happens to Gear at OCBJ
Every camera that comes my way has a story to tell. I do my best to make sure it’s ready for its next one.
Here’s what goes on behind the scenes before a camera lands in your hands.
Discovery
All gear is sourced by myself, either locally or online, from private collectors to small markets and individual sellers across Europe.
In the future I plan to make it possible for people to sell their own cameras through my website, so more gear can find its way to someone who loves photography as much as we do.
Inspection & Cleaning
When a camera arrives, it doesn’t go straight online. I carefully check every part to make sure it works as it should, from the shutter and light meter to the viewfinder and lens. After that, I give it a full clean, removing dust and dirt.
Servicing
Some cameras need a bit of extra attention before they’re ready. I replace light seals, clean battery compartments, and make small mechanical adjustments where needed. Every camera is also tested with a shutter speed tester to confirm that everything works accurately.
Listing & Delivery
Once a camera passes all my checks, I photograph it and write a clear description. When it’s ordered, I carefully pack it to ensure it’s fully protected during shipping. Every parcel is sent with tracking until it safely arrives at your door.
